YOUNG CARTOONISTS SOCIETY[link] [link] [link] [link]THIS is one of my better ideas, I think!!
"In my quest to become a professional cartoonist, I've been feeling a lot of pressure. And I've seen a lot of people fall victim to this kind of pressure. We all know stories of people with big dreams that were forced to go to school for something more "realistic," but life is too short to give up just to get by!
I wanted to start the Young Cartoonists Society to offer some support to young people who want to study and make cartoons (or comics, sequential art, graphic novels, manga, or however you'd like to say it!) some kind of support. For now it'll probably only be emotional and informational (talking, chatting, compiling resources and other links) but my dream is to provide scholarships or other financial support for kids who feel like they are being forced to do something other than comics because they're financially dependent on their legal guardians or somebody else.
I'm not going to put any restrictions on what "young" is; maybe you just feel young at heart? This group is open to any cartoonists who are interested in receiving or giving help to achieve dreams. Yeah, it's cheesy, but while it's really easy to make fun of what other people are doing with their lives, it's hard to truly love what you yourself are doing in yours. So let's help each other out."
Were you all MOVED by that stirring introduction!? LMAO just check it out, it's just gonna be an informal support thing and WE NEED MEMBBbbeerss
